The healing time of a tattoo is approximately four weeks. General health and physical condition are important parts of the healing process. During the process of healing, your tattoo might itch. Personal hygiene is absolutely necessary during the healing of your tattoo. Right after tattooing your tattoo will be sealed with a wound sealing spray, a sterile compress or transparent foil.
If the tattoo is covered with a a sterile compress or transparent foil, you can remove this after a few hours and start treating the tattoo as described below. The spray is supposed to stay on the wound until it is healed. This usually takes about three to six days. Showering is no problem with the spray, it will wear out by itself eventually. When septum occurs, the spray foil might come off sooner than expected.
Treat and take care of the tattoo as described below:
- Try to avoid touching the tattooed skin.
- Wash the tattoo twice a day with a natural and perfume-free soap until the wound is healed completely.
