The way we work:

We only use new, sterile wrapped needles, nitril gloves, one-time-use caps and 100% approved tattoo ink. Anything we have to touch during the process of applying a tattoo, is carefully cleaned and disinfected. We always do this with the customer present, so you can be sure we work with only clean and sterile materials! When you come in for a tattoo, please remember to not drink any alcohol for at least 24 hours before the appointment, because alcohol makes the blood thinner and therefore can make you bleed more during tattooing.

Be sure to rest well before you come to the shop for your appointment, tattooing takes a lot of energy. Drink some apple juice well before you get your tattoo. This makes your blood a little thicker. Try to avoid using aspirin and other pain killers, these work as blood thinners. If you use any medicine, talk to the tattoo artist about it. It could have some influence on getting your tattoo.

There are several tattooing methods:

  1. Cutting or pricking the skin with instruments dipped in ink.
  2. Driving ink-soaked threads through the skin using a needle. This way stripes are created. Eskimo’s used to use this technique for tattooing.
  3. Inhabitants of the Pacific islands use a sort of comb with sharp ends, on which is tapped with a stick.
  4. In Japan, ivory or bamboo sticks are used with a bundle of needles at the end.
  5. Scar or reliëf/cloqué tattooing. Some peoples with dark skin use this unique way of creating an image on the skin. Skin is being cut open in patterns. These wounds are then rubbed in with materials that cause infection, and during the healing process, the wounds are constantly kept open until scars appear, creating a relief in the skin.   6. Nowadays tattoo machines are use in almost every part of the world. There are two types of machines, namely a rotary-system (motor) and a tattler-system.
